Two educational workshops in Spanish were conducted for 81 Hispanic/Latino community health workers in the Chicagoland area to increase their knowledge of Parkinson’s Disease (PD). Pre/post-surveys showed a significant improvement in their understanding of PD causes, symptoms, treatment, and available resources. Educating community health workers in their native language can effectively raise awareness of PD in the Hispanic/Latino community, suggesting potential for expansion to other underrepresented groups.
