The goal of this study was to examine the extent to which health service contacts with CHWs are associated with the intention to use modern contraceptives among non-users in rural communities of Nigeria. The study analyzed a sample of rural women, and the main outcome of focus was the intention to use modern contraceptives. The results demonstrated that health service contacts with CHWs are significantly associated with the intention to use modern contraceptives, suggesting family planning programmers should leverage the positive influence of CHWs on demand for family planning in rural Nigeria.
