This study investigated community needs and perceptions regarding essential healthcare services in West Java, Indonesia, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Findings revealed unmet needs, particularly in laboratory exams, emergency care, and non-communicable disease screening. Fear of infection was a major barrier to accessing healthcare, especially for vulnerable populations. Community health workers (CHWs) played a crucial role in delivering healthcare services, highlighting the need for support and recognition of their efforts during pandemics.
