HIV represents the leading cause of death among youth in sub-Saharan Africa. This study presents results from focus group discussions with HIV affected youth who were lost to follow up (had not returned to care in at least 4 months) and the community health workers who supported them. The resulting perceptions are important for mitigating loss to follow up.
