A community health worker (CHW)-led asthma home visiting program improved asthma outcomes and reduced healthcare costs for children in Massachusetts. This study projected savings for expanding the CHW model to MassHealth pediatric patients with uncontrolled asthma. The analysis found potential savings of $566 per patient, totaling $774,515 for 1,367 children. Expanding the CHW model could improve asthma care and lower Medicaid costs, particularly benefiting low-income Black and Hispanic populations.
