Cancer survivors and caregivers from underserved communities often face barriers to participating in research, worsening health disparities. This study outlines a six-step approach to recruit and retain these groups in supportive cancer care studies: building a bilingual, culturally sensitive team; focusing on health equity; creating accessible materials; collaborating with local stakeholders; involving community health workers for outreach; and matching participants with team members who understand their cultural and social needs. This method can help reduce barriers and improve equity in cancer research.
