This study explored how to better support Community Health Workers (CHWs) in Buea Health District, Cameroon, especially during conflict and crisis. CHWs face major challenges like insecurity, community mistrust, and displacement, which affect their work and well-being. Using interviews, group discussions, and storytelling, the study found that CHWs need better pay, working conditions, recognition, and support to do their jobs well. It highlights the need for flexible CHW programs that consider the local context and CHWs’ personal experiences to improve health services in fragile areas.
